About Me

Jolanta Wasilewska, M.D., Ph.D.

 

I am a researcher and clinician, specialist in pediatric medicine as well as allergology, psychodietetics and Naprotechnology. I completed medical school at the Białystok University of Medicine as well as additional post-graduate studies and courses in sleep medicine, in respiratory medicine, autism, metabolic disorders, nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics, biostatistics, and management. A member of many research and medical associations including the European Sleep Research Society, European Respiratory Society, and the International Society of Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics. My research has included areas concerning the role of nutrition in autism, food allergy, diet-related reflux-disease, and sleep-disordered breathing and apnea in children (sleep medicine and polysomnography).

In addition to research and clinical medicine, I also maintained a teaching position at the University of Medicine in Białystok at the Department of Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, and Allergology of the Children’s University Teaching Hospital. My position included teaching and giving lectures, including invitational lectures at The Laboratory for Molecular Psychiatry of the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Wako Tokyo, Japan (available at www.dovepress.com/wasilewska).

In 2016 I opened the Centre for Pediatrics, Allergology, Psychodietetics, and Treatment of Somatic Disorders in Children with Autism in Białystok where I also co-organized two seminars in nutrigenetics. I actively use an epigenetic approach in the treatment of children diagnosed with autism, ADHD, patients with allergic diseases and infertile couples resulting in each patient receiving personalized medicine.
